Eupal is a logistics company offering delivery of goods to worldwide locations. The company came to Bluegg with two main problems. Their logo, brand and website were looking dated and no longer represented them accurately. They also needed some help with the organisation of client accounts, quotations and consignments.
We knew straight away that the change here would be more dramatic than other projects. The client had no loyalty to the existing identity and gave us a blank canvas to come up with something new. We wanted to move away from the bright red and introduce a more welcoming colour pallette.
Identity
We decided upon two interlocking arrows as they represent movement and delivery, the very services Eupal deal with. By making the arrows rounded it kept the identity more informal. Combined, the new logo and colour pallette resulted in a more modern and contemporary feel. The new identity uses two intersecting arrows to represent movement and relationships.
To bring this lighthearted but professional feel to the website, we created some custom illustrations that playfully refer to stereotypes from different countries. They also introduced a burst of personality to the site.
Website
A major part of the project was a custom built management system we created for use by registered customers.
There were two needs that the backend system needed to meet. It had to track all new accounts and consignments and it needed a quoting engine that uses current market data to produce instant and accurate quotes.
The were a lot of variables that made this part of the project difficult, as we had to include countries, shipping methods and calculate costs based on parcel dimensions and weight.
Key to the success of this project was to make the front end as simple and as easy to use as possible. As we often find, building something complex, which looks simple is a tough challenge. It seems we cracked it though, Matt from Eupal said “it’s totally changed the way I work” and “it’s so much better”.
The Eupal identity now accurately communicates their personality more effectively and the new website and backend has transformed the way the company manages its workflow. Following the project, Matt tweeted “Excited about the new website, huge thanks to @bluegg for exceeding expectations and making it a pleasant experience from start to finish!”
