Website design and launch assets for Cardiff’s newest chic hotel.

The Parkgate Hotel, Cardiff's newest luxury experience situated in the old post office building in Cardiff city centre. The Celtic Collection got in touch with us to design the website and promote the hotel on all digital platforms. So we delivered a fresh fully responsive website and marketing material that gave people a taste of what was coming.

We worked closely with The Celtic Collection to understand their business needs and goals for the new website. Firstly we designed a responsive prototype which helped us understand and agree on content, hierarchy and design before moving forward into the visual aesthetic.


Adapting their brand for web

We took the new Parkgate branding and developed it to suit the web. Making use of their typefaces, colour palette and imagery across their UI.

Flexible, future-proof components

We approached the website design by focusing on the core components, making sure they were flexible and adaptable enough to work site-wide and can adapt to promote key themes and seasons when needed.

Content first

When it comes to hotels people want pictures, so we made sure all of the pages gave a flavour of what it’s like to be at the Parkgate, showcasing their excellent facilities in a clean and sophisticated way.

Booking at the forefront

It was important we positioned booking as the core feature of the website, The Parkgate is a brand new hotel and the aim was to get as many pre-bookings as possible before it opened.

To represent the hotels amenities we designed a bespoke icon set that felt premium.

Website style guide

We worked with London based development agency Propeller to make sure the design and vision was built and integrated in the way we felt looked best. So we developed a full website style guide which helped with handover

Social content that excites

We designed engaging social content that The Parkgate could use to promote the website, giving users a sense of what was coming.

Launch assets

Marketing and promotion was a key area for drawing eyes to the website so we developed marketing materials across email, social and web that built up the excitement for launch.

It was a pleasure to work with the Bluegg team who were able to bring their expertise to the table and deliver this project. They understood our brand values straight away and presented a digital version that lifts the entire online experience. The team were creative, reliable and always responded with brilliant attention to detail. We will definitely be using Bluegg again as we continue our exciting expansion at The Celtic Collection.
